Comedy writer, actor and director Harold Ramis has died. He was 69-years-old. Ramis leaves behind an impressive legacy of work. He is perhaps best known for his role as Egon Spengler in Ghostbusters and as Russell Ziskey in Stripes, both of which he co-wrote. His writer/director credits also include the comedy classics Groundhog Day, Caddyshack, and Anaylze This. The Chicago Tribune reports that Ramis died early this morning, while surrounded by family, of complications from autoimmune inflammatory vasculitis, according to his wife, Erica Mann Ramis. The media world has already begun taking notice, remarking on how much modern comedy and pop culture owe to Ramis' work.
