Harry Potter Fan Sets Guinness World Record For Largest Harry Potter Collection

A Mexican lawyer has set a Guinness World Record for largest collection of Harry Potter memorabilia.

The 37-year-old Asher Silva Vargas owns 3,097 pieces of Harry Potter merchandise. He has been building his collection for 14 years.

"When I realised that my treasures began to take up more than one room, I decided that I should take this seriously," Vargas told The Telegraph.

The previous record was set at 807 pieces, making a Vargas a clear record-breaker.

"I personally examined it, and so I was able to determine that his collection was bigger than the 807 piece one we had already, so he achieved a new Guinness World Record," says US Guiness World Record manager Johanna Hessling.
