Superstar artist Simon Bisley, best known in the United States for his work on Lobo for DC Comics and Halo: The Graphic Novel for Marvel, will draw a trilogy of graphic novels titled The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse by writer Michael Mendheim. The books will also feature work by Tim Bradstreet, Chad Fidler, Dave DeVries and the late Stan Winston, with scripts written by co-writers Mike Kennedy and Sean Jaffe. The books, being billed as a celebration of Heavy Metal magazine's 35th anniversary, "will also include special fan incentives and social media-focused promotions and preview exclusives that aim to thrill our diehard fans, friends, fans and Heavy Metal followers," according to owner and publisher Kevin Eastman. One such promotion will be a Pestilence art contest, wherein the top ten entries will be featured in Heavy Metal and the winner will get an original Bisley painting. The story follows Adam Cahill, an elite warrior who has spent his life training to defend against the End of Days but who may be the last member of that order when outside influences kickstart events that seem to be hastening the Biblical apocalypse. The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse will begin on Friday, April 13. Check out the video trailer and get a feel for the story and keep watching ComicBook.com for more information.
