Hemlock Grove

In what marks the first official renewal of a Netflix original series, Hemlock Grove has been picked up for a second season. The horror series, which debuted to middling reviews, teams X-Men's Famke Janssen with, among others, Dougray Scott, who almost played Wolverine until an injury and scheduling conflicts took him out of the film and required the role to be recast (it ultimately went to some guy called Hugh Jackman). Showrunner Charles H. (Chic) Eglee (The Walking Dead, Dexter) is joining the series, which will return with 10 original episodes next year. Netflix's House of Cards will also return for a second season, but that show was given a two-season pickup when the streaming service bought it from producer David Fincher. It debuted to impressive numbers, but less impressive than the ones Hemlock Grove drove and presumably even less than Arrested Development, for which a fifth season is rumored to be in talks after Netflix released Season Four last month.
