--the upcoming Lionsgate film based on the graphic novel by Underworld co-creator Kevin Grevioux and starring The Dark Knight's Aaron Eckhardt and Chuck's Yvonne Strahovsky, will be upconverted to 3-D for its theatrical release, Lionsgate confirmed today.
The film will be out in theaters September 13, and was written and directed by Stuart Beattie, best known as the writer of the Pirates of the Caribbean and G.I. Joe films.
“We’re selective. We do it where we think it’s appropriate for the creative, as well as for the consumer enjoyment,” The Hollywood Reporter quoted Lionsgate co-chairman Rob Friedman on a conference call.
The studio also revealed that Ender's Game and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, both due out in November, will be released in IMAX 3-D.
