Image Comics Comic Con Panels Announced

Image Comics has announced its lineup of events for this year's San Diego Comic-Con International.

It all begins at Image Expo, being held in the afternoon before SDCC's preview night. At SDCC proper, Image Comics will host five panels, including a spotlight panel on Saga and a panel designed to help newcomers get into the industry.

On Thursday, July 24 from 2 - 3 p.m. in room 23ABC, Image Comics will host "IMAGE COMICS: I is for...INFINITY," featuring Nick Dragotta (EAST OF WEST), Rick Remender (DEADLY CLASS), Richard Starkings (ELEPHANTMEN), Jason Latour (SOUTHERN BASTARDS), Stuart Moore (EGOS), Ryan Burton (DARK ENGINE), and special surprise guests as we discuss the future of comics.

Skybound's The Walking Dead panel will be held on Thursday, July 24 at 4:15 - 5:15 p.m., room 6A. The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman and artist Charlie Adlard will be in attendance, and the panel will be moderated by The Walking Dead editor Sean Mackiewicz.

On Friday, July 25 at 11 a.m., in room 23ABC, Image will host "IMAGE COMICS: I is for INCEPTION." Fiona Staples (SAGA), Matt Fraction and Chip Zdarsky (SEX CRIMINALS), Kelly Sue DeConnick (PRETTY DEADLY), John Layman (CHEW), Steve Seagle (IMPERIAL), and additional special surprise guests, will gather together to share their experiences and inspirations when creating entire universes from scratch and the teamwork it takes to do so.

The Saga panel will be held on Saturday, July 26 from 1 - 2 p.m. in room 7AB. Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples, writer and artist of SAGA, come together for this panel where they discuss the New York Times bestselling and Eisner-award winning series in-depth and hint at what's to come.

The Robert Kirkman Presents Skybound Entertainment ft. Norman Reedus panel will be held on Saturday, 7/26 at 3PM - 4 p.m., in room 6A. Robert Kirkman (THE WALKING DEAD) and his producing partner David Alpert (THE WALKING DEAD), will discuss Skybound's journey into television and film beyond The Walking Dead series. The panel will feature an exclusive, never-before-seen teaser of Skybound's first feature film, Air starring Norman Reedus (The Walking Dead), a co-production with Automatik Entertainment (Insidious franchise) which has been acquired by Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions. Director Christian Cantamessa (Red Dead Redemption) will also be attending and the panel will be moderated by IGN's Greg Miller.

On Saturday, July 26 from 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m., Image will host "IMAGE COMICS: I is for… IDEAS" in room 6DE. Scott Snyder (WYTCHES), Josh Williamson (NAILBITER), Kyle Higgins (C.O.W.L), Joe Kelly (I KILL GIANTS), Brian K. Vaughan (SAGA), and special surprise guests share their secrets about becoming a hit comics writer in the industry.

At Robert Kirkman's Skybound Comics panel on Sunday, July 27 at 11 a.m. - 12 p.m., room 7AB, fans can listen in as Skybound's Robert Kirkman (THE WALKING DEAD) and other Skybound writers and artists including Josh Williamson (GHOSTED), Khary Randolph (TECH JACKET), Matt Roberts (MANIFEST DESTINY), and Chris Dingess (MANIFEST DESTINY) discuss not only their own works, but the ever-changing landscape of the modern comic book industry. The panel will be moderated by Skybound Editorial Director Sean Mackiewicz.

Lastly, Image will host "IMAGE COMICS: I is for… INNOVATION" on Sunday, July 27 from 2 - 3 p.m. in room 7AB. Amy Reeder (ROCKET GIRL), Chris Burnham (NAMELESS), Tula Lotay (SUPREME: BLUE ROSE), and a few special surprise guests discuss work ethics, visual storytelling, finding collaborators, and creating some of the best comics in the business.
