Jack Reacher: Never Go Back Starring Tom Cruise Begins Filming

Paramount Pictures and Skydance Media have announced that principal photography has commenced on the sequel to 2012's Jack Reacher, which is titled Jack Reacher: Never Go Back.

Three-time Academy Award nominee and three-time Golden Globe Award winner Tom Cruise returns in the title role and his The Last Samurai director Edward Zwick is at the helm. The script was written by Zwick, Richard Wenk (The Equalizer) and Marshall Herskovitz (The Last Samurai).

Production will take place in New Orleans.

The sequel is based on author Lee Child's 18th book in the bestselling Jack Reacher series, Never Go Back.

Cruise is producing alongside Don Granger, Skydance Media's David Ellison and Dana Goldberg, and Christopher McQuarrie. The executive producers are Paula Wagner and Herb Gains.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back also stars Cobie Smulders, Danika Yarosh, Austin Hebert , Patrick Heusinger, Aldis Hodge, and Holt McCallany.

Jack Reacher: Never Go Back is set for release on October 21, 2016.
