Gamora is an equal member of the Guardians of the Galaxy, so why isn't she equally represented in the Guardians of the Galaxy merchandise? That may soon change.
Guardians director, James Gunn, recently took to Facebook for a live chat with fans and one fan asked him if Gamora's representation in merchandise for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 will be beefed up a bit. Gunn got serious for a moment, saying, "I had a big conversation about this yesterday with one of my producer’s at Marvel about trying to make sure, especially that Gamora is represented more in stuff and all the Guardians toys but especially all the clothing and bedsheets and all that stuff. I think its really important. That often times it’s something Marvel is concerned with, as I am. It’s frustrating and stuff and it bums me out."
Gunn is a director who is equally passionate about his films and the characters in them as their biggest fans (if not more), so if he wants to see more Gamora in the toys, clothing, and other merchandise, you better believe he'll push for it.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters May 5, 2017.
