John Carter Extended Super Bowl Commercial

With the March 9 release date for John Carter fast approaching, Disney put a lot of effort into promoting John Carter during the Super Bowl. The John Carter Super Bowl commercial featured a special sweepstakes code that can be used to enter online for a chance at tickets to next year's Super Bowl. The more I see of the John Carter movie the more I like. Based on the commercials, I'm really hoping that the John Carter movie does well at the box office, because I would like to see it become a franchise with future movies. The visual effects in the movie appear to be nothing short of spectacular. The Mars cities and landscapes are breathtaking, and there are all sorts of weird alien creatures. In many ways, John Carter reminds me a little bit of Star Wars. Of course, John Carter is based on a book that pre-dates Star Wars by six decades, so to be more accurate I should say Star Wars reminds me of John Carter. In the past, George Lucas has credited John Carter as one of his influences for Star Wars, and with finally being able to see John Carter translated to the big screen it's easy to see why.
