On Monday, a big Ant-Man rumor surfaced on Variety suggesting that Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Paul Rudd were in discussions to play the lead in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man movie. Of course, Comicbook.com first reported on the Paul Rudd as Ant-Man rumor way back in February. There's definitely some evidence out there suggesting that Marvel Studios has been looking at Paul Rudd as a possible Ant-Man for quite some time. But what about Joseph Gordon-Levitt? It seems his name comes up almost every single time a new superhero is cast. While appearing in Paris to promote Don Juan, Gordon-Levitt addressed the Ant-Man rumors. We use the term addressed, because it's a little unclear if he actually confirmed the discussions or denied the rumors. In an interview with the Huffington Post, Gordon-Levitt said, "There is always a lot of rumors around these projects and so far it is still only discussions. I am always very transparent when it comes to my role and my career. I'm usually the first to speak and communicate with my fans if something happens . If you hear nothing from me, they are just rumors ." On the one hand, Gordon-Levitt definitely seems to be denying that he has been cast in the role, but he does refer to discussions, so maybe talks are still in the very early stages. Ant-Man is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on July 31, 2015.
