Some naysayers may think that the comic book industry might be on the ropes in some parts of the country, but in others it's making a comeback. Louisville, Kentucky will play host to its first comic convention in over 30 years with this weekend's Derby City Con on Saturday, July 16th from 10AM-5PM! The major southern city will play host to this event at the Kentucky International Convention Center in downtown Louisville, and for its first year back in operation it sports an impressive and varied guest list! The artists gathered for the event will be a showcase of Louisville-based art scene, with many illustrators and independent comic book creators present and waiting to share their work with a wider audience. The guest list features talent such as Bob Hall, known for his work with Marvel, DC and Valiant, illustrating some of the biggest characters and stories over the past thirty years! Joining Hall will be Jay Lesten (X-Men Legacy), Marjorie M. Liu (X-23), Jamie Snell (Popgun Anthology), and Gary Friedrich, creator of Marvel icon Ghost Rider!
