Luke Skywalker's Original Blaster Gun Up For Auction

There's a saying a wise man once said about how hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster by your side. And while Luke Skywalker maybe forever linked to his trademark green-bladed lightsaber (or his father's blue, recently seen in The Force Awakens), Luke had been known for wielding a blaster here and there.

The "DL-44" blaster pictured above was used during The Empire Strikes Back by actor Mark Hamill. It was indeed screen used and as luck would have it for a rich enough Star Wars fanatic, as it has hit the auction block.

Express reports that the blaster is being auctioned off at Nate D. Sanders in Los Angeles and is expected to sell for $300,000.

Sam Heller, from the auctioneers, said: "This is a very rare and desirable piece of Star Wars history. The recently released Star Wars flick, The Force Awakens, is on pace to become the highest-grossing film of all-time. And Luke Skywalker is one of the most beloved cinematic characters of all-time. Collectors will cherish Skywalker's Blaster Gun, which was used in the Rebel Alliance's battle against the evil Galactic Empire."

If the prop reaches that goal, it would be best-selling Star Wars prop, even beating out Luke's lightsaber hilt that was sold in 2008. It went for about $189,000. The record for best-selling screen weapon is currently held by Harrison Ford's pistol from Blade Runner that was sold in 2009 for about $256,000.

As I did not win the Powerball, this is too rich for my blood.
