Marvel Comics Announces New "New Avengers", First Member Revealed

As the Siege in Marvel Comics rages on, the ground work for the upcoming "Heroic Age" continues. Recently, we brought you the first five members of the soon-to-be relaunched Avengers series. Marvel has begun a new line of teasers in anticipation of the next series, a relaunch of the hit series New Avengers will begin in June, and it looks like the first member of the group will be none other than Sweet Christmas himself, Luke Cage! There was speculation that he might join the proposed Secret Avengers, but Marvel has put those rumors to rest with today's announcement. Luke Cage is no stranger to many iterations of the Avengers, Earth's Mightiest Heroes, and he will once again be under the watchful pen of Brian Michael Bendis and the skillful artwork of Stuart Immonen. There's no word yet on how Cage will juggle dual membership in the New Avengers and the upcoming new Thunderbolts, but hey, if Wolverine can do it so can he!
