Marvel Teaser: SPIDER-MEN

This summer, DC may be slaughtering the sacred cow that is Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons's Watchmen, but Marvel--which will just be wrapping up its big Avengers vs. X-Men event--is not to be outdone, and have released a cryptic teaser image today, simply saying "Spider-Men. June 2012." Spider-Man was really just aching for an event to call his own, with a movie on the way this summer and The Avengers (also hitting cinemas soon) getting most of the attention so far this year. Just yesterday, Joss Whedon confirmed during a Twitter panel that Ol' Webhead wouldn't join his comrades-in-arms by making a cameo in The Avengers, as it had been rumored he might. Given the recent relaunch of Scarlet Spider and the fan theories that onetime Spider-Man Ben Reilly might return with the launch of that series (he didn't), one has to wonder whether it's his return this poster is teasing, or developments spinning out of the recent Spider Island crossover, or something else...
