Marvel's Free Comic Book Day Event: Infinity

Marvel Comics today released their official teaser and sneak peek at Free Comic Book Day 2013: Infinity, the kickoff event to the (now official) major Marvel event coming this summer and featuring The Avengers, X-Men, Superior Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Inhumans and Guardians of the Galaxy. It's been rumored for a while, and was confirmed by a comics retailer last month, that the event will be a science fiction story a la The Infinity Gauntlet and that it will center largely around The Guardians of the Galaxy and Nova, both of whom have books launching soon. It seems that "Infinity" has become for Marvel what "Crisis" became for DC; this story seems, officially or unofficially, to be a sequel to The Infinity Gauntlet and The Infinity War, with Thanos pulling the strings. At least the first chapter will be written by Avengers writer Jonathan Hickman. Whether other writers will tag in for later issues, as Marvel did with Avengers vs. X-Men, we'll probably find out between now and when this issue hits in May.
