Legendary actor Mickey Rooney has passed away, Variety reports. He was 93. The actor's career started in 1926, and was an iconic star for MGM in the '30s and '40s. He received multiple awards, including a Juvenile Academy Award, an Honorary Academy Award, two Golden Globes and an Emmy Award. Working as a performer since he was a child, he was a superstar as a teenager for the films in which he played Andy Hardy, and he has had one of the longest careers of any actor, spanning 92 years actively making films in ten decades, from the 1920s to the 2010s. For a younger generation of fans, he gained international fame for his leading role as Henry Dailey in The Family Channel's The Adventures of the Black Stallion. The iconic actor and entertainer has starred in a number of hit animated or genre films like The MuppetsLittle Nemo: Adventures in Slumberland, A Year Without a Santa Claus (and a number of other TV movies around that time in which he played Santa), Pete's Dragon and Sinbad: The Battle of the Dark Knights. As you can see below, he also played a version of himself in an episode of The Simpsons in which they make a Radioactive Man movie.
