They may be second fiddle in the world of Despicable Me, but Dreamworks Animation's Minions are quickly becoming the top dog at the global box office.

Minions has now grossed more than $500 million in the foreign market, making it the number-one film in 55 territories. In fact, Minions even set box office records for best opening weekend of all time for an animated movie in countries like Mexico, Russia, and the U.K, according to Variety. Not bad for a supposed 'spin-off' film.

Combined with its U.S. box numbers, Minions has now pulled more than $750 million world-wide, making it the high-grossing animated film of 2015. It's closest competitor, Disney & Pixar's Insdie Out, has only earned $550 million. We wonder how they feel about that.
