New Matrix Trilogy Reportedly In The Works

is reporting that a new trilogy of Matrix films is in the works at Warner Bros. The Wachoskis have had a long relationship with Warner Bros., but their latest films have not done well for the studio financially. As a result, the studios and the sibling writing/directing team have begun work on a new trilogy of films with the Matrix franchise brand behind them, hopefully making the films and easy sell to fans of the original trilogy. Rumor is that the Wachowskis have already begun the writing process, but no word yet on whether or not they will direct. With new Star Wars and Avatar films on the horizon for 2017, Warner Bros. finds themselves looking at tough competition, so it's no surprise that they went back a well that is already known to be very lucrative. No further details yet, so fans are left to wonder what the films will be about. Will it be a post Revolutions world, or will it be a prequel series about another One before Neo? We'll have to wait and see.
