Nike Releases Ohio State T-Shirt Inspired by The Dark Knight Returns

A new Nike t-shirt has mixed college football with the Caped Crusader. In honor of Ohio State's upcoming night football game against the visiting Penn State Nittany Lions, Nike has released a t-shirt featuring Ohio State's mascot, Brutus Buckeye, in a pose inspired by the iconic cover of The Dark Knight Returns #1. The t-shirt shows Brutus leaping in front of a full moon, holding an Ohio State flag while gritting his teeth in anger.

Nike released the shirt in conjunction with a special black uniform being worn by Ohio State players for the game. OSU's typical jersey colors are scarlet and grey and Saturday's game against Penn State will mark the first time OSU has ever taken the field wearing black jerseys.

The Buckeyes are currently the number one football team in the nation, although the team has looked far from dominant at times this season. The game against Penn State will be the second night game OSU has played this season and the first time the team has played under the lights at Ohio Stadium this year.

Ohio State's head coach, Urban Meyer, has asked fans to wear black to Saturday's football game to "black out" the stadium in support of the team. This could be seen as a response to Penn State's infamous "white outs", in which fans wear white during big games.
