Even after several delays, Hello Game's No Man's Sky is still at the top of many's most anticipated lists. The good news for fans is that they don't have to wait too much longer, as the game is set to release on PS4 on August 9th.

The bad news is for the developers, as footage from an early copy of the game that was purchased on Ebay was uploaded to Dailymotion. Reddit user Daymeeuhn paid a hefty sum for the copy, which supposedly totalled to $1,300. He had the game express shipped to him and uploaded the footage as proof that he indeed owned the game (via Polygon).

The purchaser explained why he paid so much just to play the game a bit early.

"I'm a gamer that enjoys the journey. For me, the idea of secrets and puzzles that lack google-able answers is super thrilling. I love it. My best gaming experiences have been when I've received games before street date, knowing I was truly on my own in the universe of that game, and no matter how tempted I might be to ask a friend for help or check a website for a tip or cheat, I CAN'T because it doesn't exist. It's all you, you're representing everything there is in that moment of the game. If NMS is crack for everyone here in this Reddit, the idea of an early experience with zero information surrounding it is the equivalent of the purest, uncut and unfiltered crack money can buy for me. This is it for me, this is the nut high."

That's all well and good, and to each their own when it comes to spending your money and your time. He runs into a problem though when he starts uploading his experience to Dailymotion. Sean Murray, who works at Hello Games, expressed hs feelings via Twitter, telling players to not rid themselves of the surprise.

"We've spent years filling No Man's Sky with surprises. You've spent years waiting. Please don't spoil it for yourself :("

If you've waited this long, two weeks more will be like nothing. No Man's Sky releases on PS4 on August 9th and on PC August 12th.
