Oblivion's Andrea Riseborough To Be Main Villain In The Crow Remake

Will Andrea Riseborough and Jack Huston (Boardwalk Empire) be an effective team for Relativity Studios' remake of The Crow? They sure hope so.

According to Deadline, The Crow remake is going to shake things up and add Andrea Riseborough to the cast as the film's main villain. She'll portray Top Dollar, who was originally played by Michael Wincott in the original 1994 film that starred Brandon Lee.

Top Dollar was in James O'Barr's graphic novel, in which the film is based, but he wasn't the evil mastermind that planned Eric Draven and Shelly Webster's deaths, like you see in the 1994 film. He's more of a street-level drug dealer if I recall. Also, his death in the comics comes happens rather early. While the film makes Top Dollar the final challenge for Eric to overcome before his mission of vengeance is complete.

Riseborough is best known stateside for playing Vika in Oblivion and Laura in Birdman.

Corin Hardy ("The Hallow") will direct the remake.

The Crow remake doesn't have a release date at this time.
