Oz the Great and Powerful: Extended Clip Released

Walt Disney Studios have released an extended look at Oz the Great and Powerful, for fans who didn't make it out to their $80 million opening weekend. A key establishing scene in the movie, this nearly five-minute clip sees James Franco's character hurled into the land where he'll ultimately be tapped as the kind of magical, spiritual savior. Along the way, as you might expect, the film transitions from black-and-white to color, an effect that's as much sentimental as it is technical in this case. The effects here are beautiful, but knowing it's all or mostly CG seems really to just add to how impressive the 1939 original really was. Check it out, though, and consider a trip to the cinema if you haven't already; the movie is better than you've heard.
