Rare Releases 30th Anniversary Poster, Battletoads Vinyl for SDCC

Rare Studios and Microsoft have a special treat for fans of their old school games, soon to get a re-release on the Rare Replay collection. For fans at San Diego Comic-Con (or just in the area), they can purchase a special 30th anniversary print from Rare featuring all 30 games from the collection at the Xbox Lounge in the Manchester Hyatt from 2pm each day, they announced at their panel.

The print, hand-signed and numbered at 400 copies, was created in collaboration with video game arthouse iam8bit, and features characters and symbols from games like Banjo-Kazooie, Battletoads, Kameo, Conker's Bad Fur Day, and much more.

Of course, Battletoads fans can do one better when it comes to a Rare exclusive (pun intended). A limited-to-300 edition of the Battletoads soundtrack printed on green 180-gram vinyl is also available at the show. The 19-track soundtrack by composer David Wise features artwork by Nick Gazin. It is being called the "SDCC Exclusive Edition," but no future editions were announced in the initial panel or press release.

Fans who visit the Xbox Lounge at SDCC can also get hands-on previews of Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Forza 6, The Division, and more.
