Rawson Thurber, director of We're the Millers and Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story, has turned down the opportunity to direct Marvel Studios' Ant-Man, according to ThisIsInfamous.com. Ant-Man originally began pre-production with Edgar Wright at the helm, but Wright recently walked off the film due to creative differences with the studio.

Thurber was one of three directors rumored to be in consideration to replace Wright, along with Adam McKay and Ruben Fleischer. Marvel and McKay were said to have been close to a deal before McKay decided to pass on the film. If the rumor of Thurber turning down the job is true, then that means all eyes are now on Fleischer.

Marvel Studios is still holding fast to Ant-Man's July 17, 2015 release date, but if they don't attach a director to the film soon that date may not be tenable.
