One of the greatest video games of all-time is about to hit the Xbox One and PS4. Just, be prepared to look over your shoulder. Gamers will soon experience Leon S. Kennedy's horrific journey in Resident Evil 4 on the new consoles as its re-release has been given an August 30th release date.

Upgraded to 1080p HD quality with an enhanced frame rate, Resident Evil 4 will surely scare even long-time fans of the survival horror series. Seriously, the title stands as one of the franchise's most popular installments, and many critics still credit it for influencing other third-person shooter/survival horror games.

As many gamers will recall, Resident Evil 4 follows special agent Leon Kennedy as he's sent on a mission to rescue the U.S. President's daughter, Ashley Graham, from a deranged cult. Traveling to Spain, Kennedy confronts masses of violent, mutated monsters who've been infected by an unknown plague.

Both the Xbox Store and PSN have updated their sites to reflect Resident Evil 4's release. The sites have also uploaded a brief synopsis for the popular game which can be read below:

Other Resident Evil titles have previously be ported to current generation console, and really, it's no secret at to why. The lucrative franchise has garnered much respect since its debut back in 1996, and titles such as Resident Evil 4 have earned tons of awards and critical acclaim from both fans and critics.
