When the Russo Brothers get to start on Avengers: Infinity War, they are absolutely going to have their hands full. Between pitting the Marvel Cinematic Universe against it's most powerful threat yet, and handling an immense cast, this movie surely will take a lot out of them.

When we spoke to the directing duo, they heavily implied that we'll see characters come from all corners of the MCU, but didn't specify who or when. Then, during a panel at Wizard World New Orleans, reports were flying around that there was a specified number of characters showing up, 67 in fact.

During a special IMAX screening of Captain America: The Winter Soldier, the Russos clarified their statement saying ""We were being figurative when we said [67 characters] and people took it as literal but there's a lot of characters."

"Infinity War is meant to be the culmination of the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe up to that point." they continued. "It's very ambitious in its scope, it wants to take everything that you've seen before and coalesce into some kinda of climactic ending. It's complicated , ambitious storytelling…We're not talking about lead characters, just people that make an appearance."

To film a movie of this scope and scale isn't going to be easy. The brothers mentioned that they'll start filming this July and won't go back home to LA until the following June since they'll be shooting both movies back to back. "We won't look like this next year," they joked.

So what do you think ComicBook.com readers? How many characters do you think will make it into the film when all is said and done? Let us know in the comments below!
