Samuel L. Jackson Joins RoboCop Reboot

First Commissioner Gordon, now Nick Fury? It seems as though RoboCop is putting together a veritable army of the bureaucrats behind superheroes. Ain't It Cool News is reporting that Jackson has been signed to play Pat Novak, "a charismatic TV mogul and a powerful force in the RoboCop world." AICN is speculating based on that description that he might be a talk-show host or a newscaster, but to us it sounds more like Jackson may be playing a Rupert Murdoch-type. Either way, the cynical, satirical look at the media that ran through the original RoboCop is reportedly a big part of this new script. RoboCop will be in theaters on August 9, 2013. The film stars The Killing's Joel Kinnaman in the lead role.
