When it comes to recognizable actors, Samuel L. Jackson has to immediately come to mind. The iconic actor has appeared in tons of films over the years, and he's become a part of some of the most popular franchises in history.
While he's now known by many as Nick Fury in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, remember that the franchise is just one of the actor's accomplishments. He's also had roles in huge properties like Star Wars, Robocop, Die Hard, Jurassic Park, xXx, Shaft, and - most recently - King Kong.
Apparently, Jackson still has another big franchise on his list - and this one is pretty epic. The actor has recently revealed that he'd love a part in the Keanu Reeves-starring John Wick franchise.
The action-thrillers have made a killing in the box office, while also receiving loads of critical praise. Big names like Ian McShane, Laurence Fishburne, John Leguizamo, and Willem Dafoe have all joined the John Wick universe, and it only seems logical that Samuel L. Jackson would jump in as well.
On the latest episode of Meet The Movie Press, Simon Thompson revealed that he's talked with Jackson about the franchise on multiple occasions. When speaking about a Nick Fury solo film, Jackson told the reporter that he'd much prefer a role in John Wick 3.
He actually was less interested in that than he was in an idea he floated with me, and he’s floated it with me twice now. He wants to do, over a Nick Fury movie, John Wick 3 with Laurence Fishburne and Keanu Reeves. He absolutely loves the John Wick movies. He wants in. He doesn’t want in, he wants in with a capital IN. Seriously, I think he will do whatever he needs to do to get in on John Wick 3.
This seems like a perfect fit, and there's no doubt fans would love to see Jackson square off against Keanu Reeves. Because of Jackson's ability as an actor, he could easily portray a villain, or an ally, in the upcoming film.
Only time will tell, but seeing Jackson in John Wick would be an action fan's dream come true.
John Wick: Chapter 2 is directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad. The film stars Keanu Reeves, Common, Laurence Fishburne, Riccardo Scamarcio, Ruby Rose, John Leguizamo, and Ian McShane. It's now playing in theaters everywhere!
