Indie comics icons Jaime and Gilbert Hernandez won two Eisner Awards tonight at Comic Con International: San Diego, their first ever for the long-running series.

Jaime Hernandez took home the Best Writer/Artist award for Love and Rockets: New Stories #6, while Gilbert Hernandez won for Best Short Story, for an untitled tale in that same issue.

It seems nearly impossible to believe that neither of the two acclaimed cartoonists have won an Eisner before, as they've taken home at least one and often multiples of many other comics-industry awards.
