Season 2 of Pokemon XY: The Series and Hoopa and the Clash of Ages Now Available on Netflix

Netflix has added a new season of the hit Pokemon anime to its streaming service. Kalos Quest, the second season of Pokemon XY and the eighteenth season of the longrunning anime, was added to the service this morning. Kalos Quest covers the continuing adventures of Ash Ketchum and his partner Pikachu, as well as the newer characters Serena, Clemont and Bonnie. In Kalos Quest, Ash adds several new Pokemon to his team, including a powerful pseudo-Legendary Pokemon, and earns several gym badges while traveling through the northern parts of the Kalos region.

Although some Pokemon fans have complained about the static nature of Ash's character development over his nearly twenty years on television, Pokemon XY: The Series is notable for portraying Ash as a competent and experienced trainer. Not only is Ash's team incredibly strong compared to past seasons, he's capable enough to go toe to toe with the Kalos champion Diantha in multiple episodes. Plus, the animation of Pokemon XY: The Series is a definite step up compared to previous seasons.

Netflix also added Hoopa and the Clash of Ages to its streaming service today, which features Ash's encounter with Hoopa and a whole host of Legendary Pokemon. While Hoopa and the Clash of Ages is considered to be out of continuity (like every other Pokemon movie) it features about a dozen Legendary Pokemon wrecking a city and battling each other.
