Sin City: A Dame to Kill For

became the third comic book movie of 2013... ...to have its release delayed until 2014. Following in the footsteps of 300: Rise of an Empire and I, Frankenstein, the Sin City sequel will sit out this blockbuster-choked summer and try its luck next year in a somewhat less crowded field. The move comes amid a few days of new film and rescheduling announcements, with Marvel Studios staking out dates in 2016 and 2017 for Phase Three films while Sony called dibs on slots for two more The Amazing Spider-Man projects. The project, which had already been rescheduled once, was set to be released in October of this year but will be delayed nearly a year--ten months--and will now hit theaters in August 2014. While an August release date is often not a sign that the studio has particular faith in your project, co-director Robert Rodriguez has had success in the month in the past, and August 2014 has at least one other presumptive hit with Guardians of the Galaxy.
