SNL Jokes That Family Guy Killed The Wrong Dog

Saturday Night Live made a brief mention of the recent controversy revolving around Family Guy killing off the family dog Brian Griffin. During SNL's Weekend Update segment, 1860's newspaper critic Jebediah Atkinson, who is played by Taran Killam, made an appearance. Jebediah Atkinson is famous for giving a negative review of Abraham Lincoln's Gettysburg address in 1863. Jebediah offered up his review of A Charlie Brown Christmas Special. After saying some harsh words about the supporting cast, Jebediah added, "And don't get me started on this dog Snoopy. If you ask me Family Guy killed the wrong dog." When the audience moaned, Jebediah continued, "Oh, what, he's a cartoon. If you care so much, learn how to draw."
