Heroine archers is a big trend in pop culture, and it looks like the X-Men franchise has found one of its own. Bryan Singer has posted a new behind-the-scenes photo of himself teaching Sophie Turner, the film's Jean Grey, how to wield a bow and arrow for X-Men: Apocalypse.

Given the setting of the scene, we'd speculate that Turner is being trained to show off her newly acquired archery skills in a scene involving the X-Men's Marvel Girl partaking in some extracurricular activities on the Xavier Institute's grounds. This could be an opportunity for Jean to show off her telekinetic mutant abilities as well.

Turner is taking over the role of young Jean Grey for Apocalypse, set in the 1980s. The adult version of the character was played by Famke Janssen in the original X-Men movie trilogy.

X-Men: Apocalypse opens in theaters May 27, 2016.
