Stan Lee Confirms Black Panther Movie

Black Panther Movie

Earlier this week, Marvel Studios President of Production Kevin Feige confirmed that a Black Panther movie was absolutely in development. But being in development can be kind of a vague term in Hollywood. There’s been talk of a Black Panther movie for years, but no official announcement from Marvel Studios.

However, in another sign that things might really be moving forward with Black Panther sooner rather than later, Marvel Comics icon Stan Lee has also now confirmed a Black Panther movie. Stan Lee has mentioned Black Panther as one of the properties that Marvel Studios has been looking at in the past, but his latest statement seems a little more definitive. While Stan Lee isn’t necessarily involved in making Marvel Studios movie decisions, he is closely enough connected that he’s likely one of the first to hear when things actually start moving forward with a property.

While TMZ was talking  to Stan Lee about’s scoop from last week that he wanted to be in the Batman Vs. Superman movie, they also asked him about Marvel’s new TV show Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. The TMZ reporter suggested that the show was controversial because it only had black people on that either got shot or were villains. When the reporter asked when a black hero was coming on the show, Lee changed the subject from TV to the movies.

“Pretty soon, we’re going to do a movie called the Black Panther,” said Lee. When a surprised TMZ reporter asked to confirm if they were really doing Black Panther, Lee responded, “Of course.”
