Stan-Lee

This weekend marks the birthday of one of the biggest icons in in comics and pop culture. Today Stan Lee is celebrating his 92nd birthday. While Lee is known for introducing the world to some of Marvel's heavyweights: Spider-Man, The Fantastic Four, Daredevil, the X-Men and many others, the truth is that the charismatic creator has become quite the pop culture icon in his own right.

After all, there's a reason why Lee makes a cameo in most of the Marvel films. In fact a hilarious Stan Lee appearance is almost as guaranteed as a scene post credits.

With so many classic cameos, it was only appropriate that we take a look at five of our favorite Stan Lee cameos.

So in no particular order, the following are five favorite Stan Lee cameos:

5. Daredevil (2003)

4. The Amazing Spider-Man (2012)

3. Iron Man 2 (2010)

2. Superman: The Animated Series (1998)

So technically this isn't a Marvel film, but the appearance is noteworthy. In the original broadcast of the episode, Apokolips... Now! Part 2, Stan Lee was visible mourning the death of slain heroic policeman, Daniel "Terrible" Turpin. Turpin was based on Lee's longtime collaborator Jack Kirby.

1. The Incredible Hulk (2008)

Given all of this, the theory of Stan The Man is actually being the Watcher doesn't seem as far-fetched. Excelsior!
