The Star Trek Into Darkness Super Bowl commercial airs during the second quarter of Super Bowl XLVII. The Star Trek Into Darkness Super Bowl spot has been released early on iTunes Movie Trailers. In the wake of a shocking act of terror from within their own organization, the crew of The Enterprise is called back home to Earth. In defiance of regulations and with a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads his crew on a manhunt to capture an unstoppable force of destruction and bring those responsible to justice. As our heroes are propelled into an epic chess game of life and death, love will be challenged, friendships will be torn apart, and sacrifices must be made for the only family Kirk has left: his crew. Paramount released a Star Trek Into Darkness app in conjunction with the Super Bowl movie trailer. The Star Trek Into Darkness app will give fans clues to the movie's mysteries, provide first looks at photos and video, etc. Paramount is also running a Star Trek Into Darkness sweepstakes where on lucky winner will be rewarded with the grand prize of attending the Star Trek Into Darkness U.S. premiere. Star Trek Into Darkness is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 17, 2013.
