Star Wars: The Force Awakens Trailer Sets Guinness World Record

The Force has awakened a new Guinness World Record.

The second Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer, which sent Star Wars fans around the world into a tizzy when it premiered this April, is now officially the most viewed movie trailer on YouTube in 24 hours, according to The Guinness Book of World Records.

The trailer culled a galaxy-busting 30.65 million views on its official YouTube page just a day after its initial release at the Star Wars Anaheim Celebration. Fans' heads exploded with the trailer's inclusion of Darth Vader's helmet, looks at the all-new cast, the long-awaited return of Han Solo and Chewbacca, and more.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is set to take place 30 years after The Return of The Jedi, kicking off a brand-new Star Wars trilogy featuring veteran and new characters alike. Directed by J.J. Abrams, it stars, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac, Carrie Fisher, and several more. It hits theaters on December 18.
