Having worked as the cinematographer on Star Trek (2009) and its 2013 sequel, Star Trek Into Darkness, it was hardly a surprise when director J.J. Abrams chose to reteam with Dan Minzel on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Based on the record box office alone, their reunion was a huge success.

Since the film opened 3 weeks ago, Minzel has been releasing a steady stream of behind-the-scenes images. A sizable portion of the images are devoted to the state-of-the-art filming equipment he was able to utilize during production, but there's also images featuring new looks at BB-8 and its multiple remote-controls, Chewbacca, the snowy lightsaber duel, and the helmets of Captain Phasma and a Stormtrooper.
