An armada of pint-sized Kryptonians invaded the White House yesterday, presenting President Obama with forward-thinking technology that just might belong in a comic book.

The sci-fi-fueled event was part of the White House's annual Science Fair Day, in which a troop of young Girl Scouts, decked in Supergirl capes, presented a science project to the Commander in Chief. The tech-savvy grade-schoolers, who developed a LEGO brick page-turning robot for the disabled, thoroughly impressed President Obama.

"This is a quote. They said, 'It's just a prototype,'" Obama recalled.

But the Supergirls weren't Obama's only crossover into popular science fiction. After observing other visitors' robotic constructions, Obama made a sly reference to the Terminator franchise.

"The robots I see keep getting smarter every year," Obama told NBC. "We are keeping an eye on that, by the way. You're on notice, Skynet."

With any luck, maybe the White House will get an Optimus Prime for next year's fair.
