The Grant Morrison era on Action Comics is almost at an end, and the folks over at DC Comics are eager to show the fans what's next, having just released a first look at Action Comics #19 by the incoming creative team of Andy Diggle and Tony Daniel. On sale on April 3, the issue not only welcomes the new creative team, but delves into the mind of Lex Luthor and his plan to eradicate Superman which, according to the solicitation text, "may make Kal an alien pariah!" With no dialogue on the art yet, this preview has the feel of a movie trailer, with Diggle (via Superman's narration) giving quick glimpses into the psychology of the character. It's probably worth noting that this title seems to be all but abandoning the Morrison approach, which played Clark Kent as a key part of the character, in favor of a more Scott Lobdell-friendly vision of the character that focuses on the Kryptonian portion of Superman's personality. That makes sense, too--since The Oracle, last seen in Lobdell's Superman #17, "waits at the edge of the Solar System to pass judgment on Superman" in this issue. They also tease a surprise visitor on the last page, which of course won't appear in these preview pages but which could be interesting in terms of who's on the other side of April's surprise gatefold cover. Check out the rest of the preview below.
