The trailer for Supernatural Season 11 has been released online. Watch it below.

The trailer shows how the Winchester brothers, and their pals Castiel the angel and Crowley the demon king of Hell (yeah, this show got awesomely strange) will strive to fight off The Darkness that was unleashed at the end of Season 10. No, that doesn't mean they're fighting a gangster with an artifact (shout out to Top Cow Comics), it means they're fighting the oldest, most base and pure evil yet - the actual Darkness that existed before time and space; the void that God filled when he said "let there be light."

It looks, from the trailer, like that means there will be a lot of brother-on-brother violence, something we've seen a lot of in recent seasons as Dean was possessed by a demon and the Mark of Cain and Sam was possessed by a vengeful angel. Castiel and Crowley play big roles in the trailer, and there is a lot of screaming, torture, and general 80s horror movie style shots. Someone must've watched and loved the Scream Queens opening credits sequence, or else this style is just making one heck of a comeback.

Supernatural Season 11 premieres Wednesday October 7, 2015 on The CW.
