The soundtrack to Kevin Smith's debut feature film, the black comedy Clerks, is coming to vinyl for the first time, Rolling Stone reports.

The soundtrack features songs by Alice in Chains, Girls Against Boys, the Jesus Lizard, Bad Religion, Soul Asylum, Corrosion of Conformity, Stabbing Westward and more. It also features songs by Love Among Freaks, friends of Smith's who visit the convenience store in the movie and who scored the original soundtrack for the movie.

In the spring, Smith will begin production on Clerks III, a follow-up to both the 1994 film and its 2006 sequel. Clerks has been the subject of a number of twentieth anniversary screenings and other celebratory events this year, of which the soundtrack reissue is one.

Between now and Clerks III, he will debut Tusk and then Yoga-Hosers, which is currently in production starring Johnny Depp, Depp's daughter and Smith's daughter.

The micro-budget film reportedly cost less to make than it did to license songs for the soundtrack -- although both have seen huge return on investment in the last 20 years. Rolling Stone credits Clerks with contributing to the success of the Alice in Chains and Soul Asylum songs on the soundtrack.
