After being snubbed by the Golden Globes, The Dark Knight received an award nomination from the Producers Guild of America. The category that The Dark Knight was nominated in is called The Darryl F. Zanuck Producer of the Year Award in Theatrical Motion Pictures. Producers nominated for The Dark Knight were Christopher Nolan, Charles Roven, and Emma Thomas. The Producer of the Year Award is considered to be the Producers Guild category for Best Picture, and their nominations are often an indicator of which movies will get nominated for an Academy Award for Best Picture. In addition to The Dark Knight, the other movies nominated for Producer of Year were The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Frost/Nixon, Milk, and Slumdog Millionaire. Assuming that the Academy is paying attention, then they are also probably noticing that virtually every media mention of the PGA awards calls out The Dark Knight nomination. If The Academy wants to have record ratings for the Oscars, then The Dark Night should make it into their Best Picture category. The Producers Guild of America also recognized a television show that is a favorite among many comic book fans. Lost was nominated for the Norman Felton Producer of the Year Award in Episodic Television-Drama.
