For those of you disappointed that it was looking like there may be no video game tie-in for the Dark Knight Rises, there is now hope. MCV reports that they obtained a 2012 release schedule from a major UK High Street retailer. And a tie-in video game for the Dark Knight Rises was reportedly on that release schedule. Even better news, it doesn't appear as if it will only be a smaller-scale digital title, but rather a physical release. As Batman fans likely remember, Christopher Nolan's first Batman movie called Batman Begins had a video game tie-in from EA. However, the video game tie-in for The Dark Knight was canceled before it was ever released. It was looking rather bleak for the possibility of a Dark Knight Rises video game only a couple days ago. The Official Playstation Magazine ran an interview with Seton Hall, who works for Rocksteady. Rocksteady is the video game studio behind Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City. Because those two Batman games were such huge hits, most might think if there were going to be a Dark Knight Rises video game that Rocksteady would be the studio tapped to create it. However, when Hall was asked if Rocksteady would be making a Dark Knight Rises tie-in game, he said, "No, I don't think so. I think that's one thing you can rule out." So with Rocksteady denying involvement, it's unclear who would be making a Dark Knight Rises video game if one is in fact going to be released. If the leaked release schedule is accurate, then the Dark Knight Rises game will also apparently be released in August. Meanwhile, the actual Dark Knight Rises movie is definitely scheduled to be released in theaters on July 20, 2012.
