Image Comics has released a nine-page preview of The Darkness #100, out tomorrow from the publisher. The landmark issue represents writer Phil Hester's final issue on the title, capping a run that began in 1997 with a relaunched #1 before being numbered to resume the run of the original Darkness series with #75. He leaves the series in the hands of David Hine, who joins next month and will pick up the dramatically-altered life and times of Jackie Estacado following the events of January's Artifacts #12. Look for an interview with Hine in this space soon about the unique pressures of taking over The Darkness following Hester's impressive lead. Earlier this month, following the release of The Darkness II video game from 2K Games,  Hine briefly spoke with Comicbook.com about a tie-in comic that was included as a free digital download with purchase of the game. Hester leaves the title shortly after longtime Top Cow writer Ron Marz also left Witchblade to make way for Hack/Slash writer Tim Seeley on that title.
