Secret Wars

Even after Secret Wars gives way to the new Marvel Universe, there's still hope for New Quack City.

As Marvel Comics revealed today, many characters and concepts introduced in Secret Wars and its Battleworld tie-ins (such as Howard the Duck's aforementioned realm) will remain in the new Marvel Universe. But instead of starting this new Marvel Universe at square one, Marvel will kick things off eight months into the new universe's timeline.

"In the same way that events jumped forward in time eight months in AVENGERS and NEW AVENGERS during the lead-up to Secret Wars, so too when we enter the new Marvel Universe eight months will have passed for all of the characters as well," Marvel Executive Editor Tom Brevoort revealed.

And when readers walk into this well-established world, they can expect to find remnants from almost every realm in Battleworld--along with survivors from the pre-Secret Wars Marvel Universe and Battleworld mainstays--waiting for them.

"As we've been saying, the building blocks of the NEW MU are being established throughout the various SECRET WARS titles, with every series contributing something to the NEW MU—whether that something is a character, a place, an environment, an object, a status quo, or any other thing that you might think of," Breeovrt also told Marvel.com
