Be warned, spoilers follow for The Walking Dead's season 5 finale.

Last time both the characters and audience saw Morgan, he was crazy. Several times since, there have been post credits scenes indicating that he was hot on the trail of Rick and the rest of the survivors. At the tail-end of The Walking Dead's 90 minute season 5 finale, Rick Grimes and Morgan Jones were reunited at the Alexandria Safe-Zone.

During the "Conquer" episode, we learned a lot about how far Morgan has come. He happens to have such impressive fighting skills and abilities that you would think he trained in with the League of Assassins. On top of that and more importantly, he values life. He is truly a beacon of hope and humanity...which makes his reunion with Rick bitter sweet. Rick executed Pete Anderson (justifiably so) in front of Morgan who has no idea regarding the circumstances of Rick's actions.

Andrew Lincoln was asked about the reunion on Rick and Morgan in a behind the scenes interview with AMC. "It's a reunion between those two great men and great friends. But also a splintering in ideologies. [Morgan] is a man who is about piece now and Rick is the polar opposite," Lincoln explained.

Morgan is the only character aside from Rick who was seen in The Walking Dead's series premiere to still have a pulse today. As a matter of fact, most of the season 1 cast has been killed of. Still remaining: Carl, Carol, Daryl, Glenn, Rick, and Morgan. Of course, there's Morales and his family who parted ways with the group, but it's unlikely we'll see them again even if they are still alive.

The Morgan and Rick relationship will be fun to watch. Morgan followed the trail to Alexandria in hopes of finding the man he encountered in season 1. Back then, Rick had hope for humanity and for a while hope for finding Morgan. 'Stuff and things' only got worse in the world Rick is living in and he has had to abandon certain morals in order to survive. At times, that means taking the lives of other people. Morgan, however, does not want to take the lives of others. He warns them and defends himself, but apparently doesn't kill as we saw during his bout with the Wolves. He thinks life is precious. It will be interesting to see how the two interact now that they're both so different.
