The Walking Dead came up big in ratings for its Live and Live+3 stats, returning to form as the #1 show on television in the key 18-49 demographic. With a 90-minute premiere this past Sunday, the sixth season started with 14.6 million live viewers. More notably, however, was the +3 stats, with a 33% increase of 4.9 million for a grand total of 19.5 million viewers.

In the key demo, they had 12.8 million viewers in Live+3.

Of course, it's not all roses, as these numbers are actually down a bit from season 5. The premiere last year had 17.29 million Live viewers, and the finale last year had 15.78 million.

Still, it's top of the class, which means everything is a little bit diminished, and it's just part of that trend.

The Walking Dead also saw heavy social media presence on October 11, 2015, its premiere date, with 956,480 tweets, the top four trending topics, and over 800,000 unique users talking about the show.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays on AMC at 9pm ET/PT.
