This weekend, Barnes & Noble is holding a half-off sale on their top 1,000 best-selling titles for Nook, the Android-based e-reader the company owns and operates with Microsoft. Most versions of Nook are color, touchscreen models that come with comics, magazines and video capability standard--but apparently there aren't that many red-hot comics titles on Nook. The only comic book title represented? Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard's The Walking Dead. The first two volumes, both part of the sale, are available for under $5 each this weekend. The Walking Dead: Days Gone Bye, by Kirkman and Moore, is $4.49 for your Nook, while The Walking Dead: Miles Behind Us by Kirkman and Adlard is $4.99. This means fans can own the first twelve issues' worth of the best-selling comic book series that inspired AMC's ratings smash for less than $10.00. Not a bad deal... ADDENDUM: We've also just noticed that Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga's prose novel The Walking Dead: Rise of the Governor is part of the half-off sale as well, also $4.99.
