The Walking Dead Season 4, Episode 1

Have you been wishing that The Walking Dead TV series would more closely follow the comic book series? Well, then you're in luck at least for one episode of Season 4. Be warned that there is a spoiler for the comic book series below, which may or may not happen on the TV series. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter executive producer Greg Nicotero revealed that an episode that will air late in Season 4 is "almost verbatim" with one issue of the Walking Dead comic book. "It's really fascinating to make those slight departures, introduce new characters and then get to a situation where you take one episode and you really stick to the source material. You'll be surprised about the way the characters lay out," said Nicotero. Could the verbatim episode be about one of the most memorable occurrences from the comic book? Will the Governor chop off Rick's hand? According to executive producer Dave Alpert, "It was one of those things where, given all the other things going on [in season three], we decided it was too much to put on. That's not to say we're not going to do it later, but there's too much of a burden." Apparently, Andrew Lincoln is all for having his character Rick Grimes lose his hand. "I keep saying we should do it, so maybe that's going to happen," said Lincoln. The Walking Dead Season 4 premieres on Sunday, October 13 on AMC.
